Marinate in the good

Hi Reader,

In the upcoming month, our Salugenex theme invites you to marinate in the good. So often, our days rush by and even our happiest moments fade before we’ve fully felt them.

But when we pause to truly savor a positive emotion or experience for just thirty seconds, we can profoundly influence our well-being.

Savoring is a practice that also optimizes our heart rate variability and coherence, or union of body, mind and heart, for enhanced resilience and performance.

As a certified Heartmath Practitioner, I created this brief video explaining the value of HRV and coherence, along with a guided practice called Quick Coherence.

(To get the “Inner Balance” biofeedback device that I reference in the video, you can click the image below.)

But you don’t even need to make it so formal! Any time you find yourself in the midst of a favorable feeling (gratitude, joy, awe, or even just quiet contentment)...pause.

Let yourself steep in it. Notice the sensations in your body and breathe them in before moving on. Research shows that even half a minute of savoring is enough to spark a higher vibrational frequency, a calmer nervous system, improved digestion, steadier energy, and greater emotional resilience.

Positive emotions aren’t just pleasant, they’re powerful. They boost hormones that support energy, mood, and focus, nurture a healthy gut microbiome, and even enhance heart and cellular health. By holding onto those moments of naturally-occurring goodness (a cup of coffee, a pretty sunset, a silly pet) just a little longer, we allow our bodies to absorb their healing effects more deeply.

If you’re ready to make this kind of intentional, evidence-based self-care part of your everyday life, I invite you to join us in Salugenex. This month-to-month journey of re-wellnessing will help you implement free and practical lifestyle shifts like this one, each grounded in science and designed to help you thrive without deprivation or complexity.

Together, we’ll build simple, lasting habits that nourish your vitality, clarity, and joy.

To your best health,

P.S. To support your savoring practice, I encourage you to explore one of my favorite tools: from HeartMath. Click the image above to explore their website. Heartmath is designed to guide you into a state of heart–brain coherence, a deeply restorative state linked to calm, focus, and resilience.

(Think of it as a way of training your nervous system to come home to balance. With just a few minutes of intentional breathing into your heart space, you’ll begin to feel the shift: your body softens, your mind quiets, and your heart rhythms begin to harmonize.)
Over time, this coherence practice helps you build lasting emotional stability and physiological strength from the inside out.

Hi Reader, If you’ve lived with CIRS for any length of time, you know it’s not just a medical condition. It’s a full-body, full-life experience that can feel deeply disorienting. The endless searching for answers. The disbelief from doctors or loved ones. The fear that your environment itself isn’t safe. The loss of your home, personal belongings, finances, and ability to work. The isolation that seeps in when you realize your favorite places may not be safe, your friends don’t understand,...

Hi Reader, If you had hoped to join the Equipped to Overcome CIRS (ETOC) live cohort that started earlier this month but didn’t quite make it (whether the timing wasn’t right, the price felt out of reach, or the idea of group learning felt intimidating) I completely understand. Life is full, and healing is already a lot. That’s exactly why I created a self-paced version of this program (aka Complete CIRS Empowerment Kit), so you can still access everything I teach in the live cohort, on your...

Hi Reader, Over the years, I’ve had the honor of supporting many of you through group coaching programs, online courses, and community spaces like the CIRS Healing Collective and Salugenex. But something I haven’t highlighted yet is that I also offer one-on-one consultations for those who feel they could use more personal guidance on their wellness journey. If you’re navigating CIRS (or supporting a loved one who is), it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. The decisions pile up fast: testing,...
