New podcast…my story, overcoming CIRS, and terrain medicine!

Hi Reader,

If you struggle with concerning symptoms that doctors are stumped by, or if you believe you may be sick from mold exposure or Lyme Disease, this podcast episode will give you great hope, direction with next steps, and maybe even some laughs!

I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Dr. Rob Downey for his podcast called “Field Notes,” all about Functional Medicine.

Dr. Downey invited me to share about my family’s downfall into chronic illness while trying on the organic homesteading life, and about our powerful rise back into full wellness and thriving.

It’s the story of what changed the course of my family’s life and has shaped everything I do as a coach and educator. (Listen using the image below or keep reading)

When we first moved our family to an organic farm, I thought we were creating the healthiest possible environment. Fresh air, clean food, space to grow and thrive, and less pressure for my son with autism to be anything other than himself… it felt like the perfect next step.

But beneath the surface, something was happening that we never could have predicted.

We began to get sick. All of us. And not just a little sick. My husband became bedridden, and my sweet son developed new, scary symptoms instead of thriving as expected. I personally became suicidal, for no reason I could pinpoint. Our bodies were sending distress signals, but we weren’t connecting the dots.

It took years of searching, heartache, and persistence before we uncovered the truth: we were being impacted by hidden environmental toxins (particularly mold and Lyme) that were silently driving inflammation and illness in our bodies.

That experience set me on a path I never expected, even as as a healthcare professional and biologist. I dove into advanced training with experts like Ritchie Shoemaker and Dale Bredesen, and in the field of Functional Medicine Coaching.

I learned how chronic inflammation often disguises itself as other conditions, and how our air quality, nervous system, vibrational frequency and inner terrain hold the key to our full recovery.

Specific topics Dr. Downey and I discuss in this episode include:

  • Signs and Symptoms of Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome
  • Simple Screening Tools for Body and Home
  • How to Get Help
  • Functional vs. Conventional Medicine
  • What it’s Like to Work With a Coach
  • The Importance of Sequencing as We Optimize Our Inner and Outer Terrains
  • The Power of Salugens, Quantum Physics and Nervous System Work

If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing everything “right” but still aren’t getting better, this conversation is for you. This happened to my family, and I have to believe it happened so I can help other families not suffer the same way we did.

You can listen to the episode here.

With heart and hope,

Hi Reader, If you’ve lived with CIRS for any length of time, you know it’s not just a medical condition. It’s a full-body, full-life experience that can feel deeply disorienting. The endless searching for answers. The disbelief from doctors or loved ones. The fear that your environment itself isn’t safe. The loss of your home, personal belongings, finances, and ability to work. The isolation that seeps in when you realize your favorite places may not be safe, your friends don’t understand,...

Hi Reader, In the upcoming month, our Salugenex theme invites you to marinate in the good. So often, our days rush by and even our happiest moments fade before we’ve fully felt them. But when we pause to truly savor a positive emotion or experience for just thirty seconds, we can profoundly influence our well-being. Savoring is a practice that also optimizes our heart rate variability and coherence, or union of body, mind and heart, for enhanced resilience and performance. As a certified...

Hi Reader, If you had hoped to join the Equipped to Overcome CIRS (ETOC) live cohort that started earlier this month but didn’t quite make it (whether the timing wasn’t right, the price felt out of reach, or the idea of group learning felt intimidating) I completely understand. Life is full, and healing is already a lot. That’s exactly why I created a self-paced version of this program (aka Complete CIRS Empowerment Kit), so you can still access everything I teach in the live cohort, on your...
